Dr. Daniela Hermelin completed her Pathology Residency and Transfusion Medicine Fellowship at St. Louis University in 2020.
She is an Assistant Professor of Pathology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine, the Associate Medical Director of the Clinical Core Lab and Transfusion Medicine Services at SSM St. Louis University Hospital, and also oversees the Clinical Pathology services at St. Mary’s Hospital and Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.
She was the recipient of the AABB 2019 President’s Award in recognition of her role as a master educator and leadership in the use of social media, particularly Twitter, to teach and share knowledge in the fields of blood banking and transfusion medicine. Dr. Hermelin is passionate for medical education and transfusing #Blooducation to all levels of learners (@hermelinmd). When not engaged in Pathology, she keeps busy with her husband raising her 6 children, ages 6 to 16.
